This website and Cloudflare
Cloudflare hosts and protects this website. It processes technical request information such as your IP address, requested URL, browser information, and request time to deliver content, maintain reliability, and prevent abuse. Cloudflare may process this information in other countries under its data-protection arrangements.
We do not use advertising pixels, signup forms, or visitor analytics scripts. Fonts and images are served with the site. Technical information is retained as needed to operate and secure the service, subject to Cloudflare’s applicable retention practices; we do not maintain a separate website visitor database or export visitor logs.
Your language preference
On automatic entry pages, a small script reads your browser’s preferred languages locally. It does not use your IP address or location.
If you select a language, the site saves it in your browser’s localStorage under basta.language until you clear it. “Use browser language” clears this choice. Explicit language URLs also work without JavaScript.
Information in the app
Your quit date, smoking or vaping inputs, optional name, motivations, triggers, progress, savings settings, and preferences stay on your device. Motivation photos are copied into local app storage. Basta does not send this content to RevenueCat or an app-operated server.
The Home Screen widget uses a limited local progress snapshot shared through Apple’s App Group storage. Reminders are local notifications. Your operating-system and device-backup settings may affect copies of local data.
Purchases and subscriptions
Apple processes App Store payments; Basta does not receive payment-card details. RevenueCat helps retrieve products, validate and restore purchases, maintain subscription status, and understand subscription performance.
RevenueCat processes purchase and subscription records, product and transaction identifiers, purchase and expiration dates, storefront, platform, app/SDK version, and a randomly generated customer identifier. There is no Basta account. We do not send local profile names, health-related inputs, photos, or emails to RevenueCat. The random identifier does not guarantee that transaction records can never identify someone when combined with other information.
Analytics and support
Basta uses purchase history for app functionality and subscription analytics. It does not use advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or additional third-party analytics integrations.
If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use these to respond and resolve your request. Please avoid unnecessary health details or payment-card information. Messages to our custom email address pass through Cloudflare Email Routing and are delivered to our support inbox hosted by Proton Mail.
Retention and deletion
Local app information remains until you remove it or the app’s data, subject to operating-system backups. You can remove motivation photos individually or use Settings → Start over. Resetting progress or removing the app does not cancel an Apple subscription or delete Apple or RevenueCat transaction records.
Subscription and support records are retained as needed to provide and restore the service, resolve requests, prevent abuse, and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations. Apple may retain transaction records independently.
Legal bases, transfers, and your rights
Where applicable, subscription processing provides the service you request; limited subscription analytics, website security, and support serve our legitimate interests in operating and improving the service; legal recordkeeping is based on our obligations. Service providers may process information outside your country under their applicable data-protection arrangements.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, receive a copy of your information, and complain to a data-protection authority. Email us to make a request. We may need information to locate a subscription record and verify your request, but do not require health or photo content from your device.
